FOLK AT YALM presents Christina Alden & Alex Patterson
Join us for a special evening with Norwich’s own Christina Alden & Alex Patterson, an acclaimed multi-instrumentalist duo whose music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive musicianship and beautifully crafted songwriting.
Deeply inspired by the natural world, Christina and Alex create songs that reflect on the relationship between humans and the wild. With delicate arrangements and immersive storytelling, their performances transport audiences to wide landscapes, quiet woodlands and windswept coasts — music that feels intimate, thoughtful and deeply moving.
As established artists on the UK and European folk circuit, they have:
Completed a 23-date concert hall tour with Show of Hands (including Union Chapel and St David’s Hall, Cardiff)
Performed at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections
Headlined and appeared on main stages at leading UK folk festivals
Toured Norway, Belgium, France and Ireland
Written and self-released four albums
Composed music for a BBC Radio 4 documentary series
Achieved over one million streams on Spotify
Their harmonies are so seamlessly blended that at times they sound like a single voice, supported by expressive fiddle, guitar and layered instrumentation that reveals both technical skill and emotional depth.
