An Evening with… Helen Serafinowicz
Helen Serafinowicz, writer of Motherland in conversation with ITV arts editor Nina Nannar
With stand-up support from Meryl O’Rourke
A night for mums (and everyone else)
Join us for a brilliantly funny and relatable night celebrating modern motherhood, timed for that sweet spot just before the Easter “holidays” end and the school gates reopen on Tuesday.
At the heart of the evening is an intimate conversation with Helen Serafinowicz, the acclaimed writer and producer behind the hit BBC series Motherland and spin-off Amandaland, and creator and co-writer of the British musical sci-fi series Nova Jones for CBBC. Helen will be joined by her long time best friend, Nina Nannar, for a sharp, warm and insightful discussion.
In partnership with Hooma Comedy Club, the evening will be hosted by Martin Westgate, an accomplished MC. He has written and performed stand up sets and sketches for the BBC New Comedy Show and hosted the Sense of Hooma Podcast.
The night opens at 7:00pm with stand-up comedy from Meryl O’Rourke, a rising star of the UK comedy circuit, known for her fearless stand-up and laugh-packed performances at top comedy clubs and festivals. Her comedy blends sharp observation with real-life storytelling that resonates widely. She's known for her bold, quick-witted humour and brilliantly observed takes on family life.
